Friday night lights - where to watch

Legendary comedy show, Friday Night Live, is set to return for one night only on Friday, October 21. The original series ran from 1985 to 1988 and launched the careers of a huge array of world-class comedy talent.

Now, host Ben Elton, 63, is back as ringmaster to reunite the game-changing architects of anarchy who broke through in the '80s and blend their ground-breaking comedy exploits with today's trailblazers currently storming the circuit.

The one-off return is to mark Channel 4's 40th anniversary.

As mentioned, the series began in 1985 and was originally called Saturday Night Live. In its original run, Elton hosted the series and featured the likes of Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and Harry Enfield as part of his comedy team.

In the new edition, he will be joined by a whole host of new stars including Rosie Jones, Mawaan Rizwan and Jordan Gray.
