The Downtown Willoughby Car Cruise-in Show is set to take place Father’s Day weekend this year.

The car show will run from 4 to 10 p.m. on June 18.

Erie Street will close down at 1 p.m., as well as a portion of Euclid Avenue, River Street, Glenn Avenue, Second Street and Third Street for spectators.

“You need a village to put it together,” said Rocco Vitalone, president and member of the car show committee, which consists of about 12 members.

Vitalone has been involved with the car show for 16 years. “All of us have our own duties we do to bring it together.”

Starting in January or February, committee members meet several times to prepare for the car show, Vitalone said.

“There’s a lot of behind the scenes and problems we have that we have to try to straighten out from the year before,” he said.

“The name of the game for us is the mission to make it better every year for spectators, and the participants with cars who come in and give more donations to charities.”
